The purpose of this site is to convey the general feeling of the effects used by David Gilmour and to explain as best I can what they are used for and where. I've found through the years, that there is a lot of info regurgitated on the internet about "this is what he used and no he uses this" I don't have the definitive answers, but what I had done is buy virtually every effect used and played around with them. I've intimately gone through each effect and their tones and have come up with a decent understanding of what David Gilmour tries to accomplish with his tones. The only one who knows for sure is David Gilmour, someone whom I've never met, but through the effects I hope to relay what I've found. I will constantly update this site as I discover new tones and information behind David Gilmour's outstanding tones.

I'm not a professional by any means, but I am in pursuit of the "Tone from Heaven" and won't stop until I get close!

First and foremost I'd like to thank Pete Cornish for his wisdom, experience, and knowledge. Without him a huge part of the David Gilmour tone would be missing. Please follow the banner link below for more information on Pete Cornish and his equipment.

Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or comments Here

Also special thanks to Richard Mahon, co-author of 'Comfortably Numb-A History of "The Wall": Pink Floyd 1978-1981"
